What is CAJE all About?

Based here in Lowell, MA, we are a revolutionary organization that believes in racial, economic, and social justice and equality; we seek a justice and an equality that returns total control of this community – and every other – to the people.

what we stand for

  • We stand in solidarity with all the oppressed people and working people in our community and around the world.

  • We demand total freedom and total power to control the destiny of our community.

  • As the Black Panthers said, “We want land, bread, housing, education, clothing, justice, and peace” – for all people.

  • We demand an immediate end to police brutality and harassment, and total democratic control of law enforcement.

  • We stand for full employment, at a living wage, for all people; we stand for unions and ultimately full democratic control of all workplaces.

  • We want a radical transformation of all of society away from profit and private ownership and toward real justice, equality, freedom, and democracy.

what we believe

  • We believe that our freedom and our very survival depend upon the abolition of capitalism and that our only future is a socialist one.

  • We believe that the criminal justice system is racist. Mass incarceration and police brutality, which disproportionately affect people of color and oppressed, must end immediately. Capitalism does not exist without racism and racism does not exist without capitalism.

  • We believe every person has the right to a decent-paying job and that those unable to work must be guaranteed an equivalent income.

  • We believe that all workers have the right to a union and that Organized Labor must be rebuilt and strengthened.

  • We believe that all people have the right to affordable, clean housing and that eviction and foreclosure should be banned.

  • We believe in full rights for all immigrants. Full stop.

  • We believe in free health care and education for all.

what we do

  • Advocate for community members facing police misconduct or unjust charges.

  • Speak out against injustice in all its forms, in the halls of the City Council and out in the streets.

  • Serve the community with grassroots social programs and mutual aid funds.

  • Provide a forum for your voice to be heard and real news to be shared, through the Activate Lowell podcast and Communique New England.

  • Educate the community through free discussions, workshops, and film screenings.

  • Celebrate our heritage, lives, and common humanity with one another in defiance of all oppression and injustice.

CAJE exists to serve the needs of the community. Accordingly, our activities will evolve and expand over time – in response to your voices.
